At the 2022 Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards Ceremony organized by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy today, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi won three awards categories, including the Corporate Comprehensive Performance Category – 100 Sustainability Model Enterprise Award, Sustainability Report Category – Trade and General Goods Category I Gold Award, and the Best Performance of Specific Category – Innovative Growth Leadership Award.
Shin Kong Mitsukoshi launched ESG endeavors in 2021. In August this year, it published the “Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Sustainability Report” of 151 pages, offering a comprehensive description of the company’s ESG performances of its operations in the past up to date, as well as future visions.
Shin Kong Mitsukoshi stated that over the years of project planning associated with daily living, the company has been consistently incorporating sustainability, life, and aesthetics into its products, activities, services, and spaces. For example, for the past 30 years, it has been hosting a variety of art and cultural activities to promote cultural preservation and extend consumer aesthetics in life. In ensuring consumer food safety, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi allocated the SKM Eats delivery team and partners with 500 restaurants and food suppliers on rigorous food safety management. The company also introduced 430 private-brand products certified with environmental and social labels and promotes environmental protection in collaboration with 760 counters invested in sustainable efforts. Furthermore, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi reaches beyond the ecosystem, urging all industries to commit to ESG.
Themed around “creating a humanistic touch with the aesthetic of sustainable living”, the sustainability report issued by Shin Kong Mitsukoshi in August this year details the company’s sustainability efforts in three areas, “happy workplace,” “green fashion,” and “social good.” In addition to the three awards received at today’s 2022 Taiwan Enterprise Sustainability Awards Ceremony, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi has also received the Gold Medal for Best Service in Taiwan in the Department Store/Shopping Mall Category and the Gold Award by 1111 Job Bank as a "happy corporate" in the general life service sector.
