Brand Actions for Sustainability

L'Oréal Taiwan CircuLove Project
Guided by its mission - "We Create the Beauty that moves the World" - L'Oréal actively promotes sustainability by implementing initiatives focused on decarbonization, circular economy, and waste minimization. Since 2022, L’Oréal Taiwan has expanded its regular bottle recycling program under the CircuLove Project, bringing together 12 brands (12 of which are located at SKM across 85 counters) to carry out cross-channel recycling efforts.Through a fully integrated recycling system developed by L’Oréal Taiwan, the program ensures that cosmetic containers are effectively recycled, while also creating job opportunities for disadvantaged communities, forming a socially inclusive circular model where beauty drives the common good.
Execution outcome: As of 2024, L’Oréal has collected over 350,000 empty cosmetic bottles across Taiwan. Furthermore, 85% of L’Oréal Group’s PET packaging now uses PCR (post-consumer recycled) plastic. The brand also implements sustainable designs at its SKM
counters, including: 100% recycled acrylic displays, new fixtures made from recycled acrylic, full transition to LED lighting, use of FSC-certified sustainable wood for counter construction, and the gradual replacement of traditional backlit signage materials with ecofriendly
canvas.
Third Edition of JINS “Reborn Glasses” SDGs Initiative "Animal Paradise" Taiwan Tour
In support of the UN SDGs, the Japanese eyewear brand JINS has organized the "Reborn Glasses" initiative for three consecutive years. The JINS "Animal Paradise" is created using recycled eyewear and supports animal rights. The "Animal Paradise" has toured in Northern, Central, and Southern Taiwan, making its first stop at the SKM Xinyi Place A8 and third stop at our Tainan Ximen Store. In 2024, the JINS campaign recycled 25,000 pieces of eyewear, a 20% growth from last year. For the 2024 JINS "Animal Paradise," the brand repurposed unused glasses into recycled boards to create a 3D house of photo walls. Graffiti artist SONG was invited to illustrate and decorate these walls of discarded glasses with native Taiwanese species. In front of the story walls are the animal species and introduction, raising public awareness of local wildlife conservation, as visitors observe and take pictures. The campaign also features a charity pop-up shop selling limited-edition animal-themed merchandise. All proceeds are donated to the Taiwan Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Taiwan SPCA), inviting consumers to support animal rights through meaningful purchases.
